Centenary of WW1 Armistice
KS2 produce some fantastic work as part of their history topic...
Since September the children in KS2 have been studying World War 1. As part of their studies, they have produced some wonderful writing and art work. Children in Years 5 and 6 were particularly challenged and moved by Wilfred Owen's poem on the futility of war: Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. They have written poems of their own inspired by this work and have translated Owen's poem into a story. Ten very special pieces have been selected for entry into this year's Stamford British Legion schools' competition. The pieces will be judged as a collection - see below or click on School Gallery to view the school's entry.
We have been overwhelmed by the quality of the children's work and the remaining pieces will be lent to Tallington village for their First World War exhibition.
