At the age of eleven, children transfer to the secondary stage of education (key Stage 3). Applications for secondary school places are made on-line during the autumn of Year 6. Offers of places are made in March.

The designated school for Uffington School is the Stamford Welland Academy. However, depending upon where you live, the designated school for your child could vary.

Lincolnshire County Council still retains the OPTION of the Eleven Plus entry system for Bourne Grammar School. Children sit two examinations in the September of Year 6. Places are awarded to children achieving a qualifying score based upon distance from the school. In recent years, children living in Uffington and Tallington have been offered places at the school.

In the independent sector, Stamford Endowed Schools (Stamford School for boys and Stamford High School for girls) offer a number of bursaries ; information is available from the Stamford Endowed Schools. Entrance examinations for the Endowed Schools take place in January.

It is the County Council's policy, as Admissions Authority, to try and meet parents' preference of schools for their child provided there are enough places at the school and provided the school offers an education which is appropriate for the child.
