Uffington Church of England Primary School

Preparing for the future; living life in all its fullness

The End of a Busy Term

School is beginning to feel more normal at last!

It has been a challenging term with COVID continuing to take its toll on staff and children, but we have made it to the end! Looking back, we have still managed to enjoy life at Uffington with a wide range of clubs, sport, fundraisers and enrichment activities to make learning as exciting as possible.

We have ended the term with a number of special events: many thanks to the PTA who have funded the most amazing Roman history day at Peterborough Museum for the children in KS2, and a wonderful virtual reality experience for Reception and KS1. The PTA held a successful Hotdogs and Bingo Night last Friday, and their Mothers' Day Shop was as successful as ever. Years 3 and 4 delighted us with our first Mothers' Day service in church for three years last Friday - we all felt emotional as they sang their hearts out in celebration of their mums, grandmothers, aunts and all the other special people who love and care for them. Meanwhile, the Y56 children have just completed a thought-provoking unit of work in RE: Creation and Science: Conflicting or Complementary?, and thanks to the generosity of The Somes Trust, we have been able to welcome the Cambridge-based Faraday Institute for Science and Religion into school to answer their questions.

Term will end on the 31st March with an Easter cafe run by Mrs Ludford and KS1 - we're sure that their guests will have a very special time.

The summer term starts on Easter Tuesday 19th April and we hope you will be able to join us for a special Easter service in Uffington Church led by Fr Aran at 2:30pm.

Everyone at Uffington School wishes you and your family a very Happy Easter!
