Safeguarding
Uffington Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all members of the school community to share this commitment.
Safeguarding is what we do for all children to keep them safe whilst in our care. Child protection describes the policy and procedures specifically for those children who are at risk of serious harm or have been seriously harmed.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and all staff in school are well-trained and know how to safeguard pupils effectively. Our staff and volunteers go through all safeguarding checks on successful appointment to the school and when staff have concerns, they know who to speak to and understand the next steps that will take place.

Sexual Abuse within Schools: Child on Child Abuse, Sexual Violence and Harassment and Harmful Sexual Behaviour:
Our position as a school is clear: sexual violence and sexual harassment are never acceptable, will never be tolerated and are not an inevitable part of growing up.
Such behaviour will never go unchallenged or become accepted and we remain committed to working openly and transparently to promote mutual respect. We will always act on concerns raised.
Our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy has guidance within it around the indicators of child-on-child abuse and harmful sexual behaviour along with our response procedures.
All pupils are taught the Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum.
The appropriate means for disclosing an allegation of abuse relating to another student is always to inform a member of the school's safeguarding team directly. In the event that an allegation is made against a member of staff, this must be sent to the Headteacher.
